We are very proud of all our students, past and present, at Rawmarsh Community School. Mrs H O’Brien (CEO), Mr Turton (Headteacher) and all staff believe that it is extremely important for us to share their achievements across school and within our local community and beyond.
The Rawmarsh Community School Roll of Honour celebrates the achievements of our past students and commends them for their hard work and dedication within their chosen fields of study and work.
We appreciate them sharing their success stories as they are role models for our students. We wish each and every student who has attended Rawmarsh Community School a great deal of good fortune for the future!
After leaving school Mark went to DVC to carry on with his Public Service course which he completed at a merit mark. From there he accepted a job at a battery company based in Rotherham whilst searching for a Public Service career. He is currently in the middle of joining the navy. He has already passed medical and fitness tests and his date for joining is 26th August 2014.
Helesha is currently working as a Business Admin Officer at Kelford School. She gained a Health & Social Level 3 NVQ Diploma and a Business Administration Level 3 NVQ Diploma at Dearne Valley College.
Josh Bellamy provides taxation, accounting, GST, BAS and general client services.
Josh moved to Australia in July 2009 with his father and studied accounting at West coast TAFE for 2 years and passed his advanced diploma. Josh commenced at Edwards Irvine & Facius in September 2011 and is kept very busy in his role. After hours Josh enjoys football, bowling and attempting to surf.
Joshua is currently studying a BA honours degree in Music Technology: Live Sound.
He is currently working as a Live Sound Engineer for a sound Reinforcement Hire Company preparing for a career on P&O cruises as a Live Sound Engineer upon Graduating from Sheffield Hallam and St Mark & St John Universities.
Levi gained an apprenticeship after leaving school and attended Sheffield Castle College on day release. He passed a Btec Level 3 Diploma in Engineering. His current employer is funding him to attend Sheffield University part-time from September 2014.
After leaving Rawmarsh in 2011 and completing her A Levels at Thomas Rotherham, Ellyn went to the University of Huddersfield to study BA (Hons) in Business Management and Logistics. She is currently in her 4th year, having spent a placement year living and working in Durham. Ellyn will graduate in July 2016.
After leaving school James went straight into full time employment at KCM Waste Management as an office worker. He has achieved an NVQ level 2 in business and administration and a First Aid Course. He now has much more responsibility and his workload has increased as a result of his commitment in his role.
While at school James became interested in music, in particular drumming, he carried this on after leaving school and joined a band touring Holland and Germany for almost a month at the age of 16, which was quite an exciting venture.
He has been back to Germany several times to entertain our troops which was a great honour and is currently in a successful indie band travelling around the country.
Tony graduated in summer 2013 at Nottingham Trent University with the degree of Bachelor of Engineering with first class Honours in Civil Engineering.
He is now working in London for a large civil engineering company as the site engineer.
Charlotte gained a BSc 2:1 (Hons) with Baccalaureate in Human Biology at Loughborough University. She is currently studying as an Officer Cadet at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, with a secured place as an Officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps.
After leaving Rawmarsh Community School Vasilia attended Thomas Rotherham College to study ‘A’ levels. She then attended Leeds University and studied Television Production for which she acquired a First Class Degree with Honours.
Matt completed his BA Honours Degree in Digital Film Production and achieved a 2:1 (Upper Second Class Honours) at the University of Sunderland. Matt is staying up in the northeast and has started his own business with a friend from University doing freelance film-making.
Josh joined the Royal Air Force age 18 to become an Avionics Technician. After 2 years working on helicopters at RAF Odiham he was deployed to San Diego, Afghanistan and Jordan. He is currently stationed at RAF Cosford (Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering), Wolverhampton where he is continuing his Advanced Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering.
Amy attended Brinsworth Training Academy to become an electrical engineer. She was accepted onto a 4 year apprenticeship with Firth Rixson metals. She was chosen to be the face of the global manufacturing festival in 2011 and was on posters billboards all around Sheffield as well as Europe and got to meet the deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. She became a female ambassador to help promote female engineers and apprenticeships. She also came 2nd in the Apprentice of the Year at Brinsworth Training and got into the top 5 in the whole of England for the apprentice of year. She has achieved an NVQ level 2-3 in Electrical Electronic Engineering and a Btec National Diploma Level 3 in Engineering and a Level 3 Technical certificate in installation.
Tom attended Edge Hill University where he gained a 2:1 Degree in Primary Education with Qualified Teaching Status. He is currently a year 3 and 4 primary school teacher in Wigan. In September 2014 he will be studying for his MA in Education while he continues to teach full time.
Abigail gained the following vocational qualifications: BTEC First Diploma in Art & Design level 2 – DS* BTEC First Certificate in Sport, Leisure & Recreation level 2 – DS OCR National First Award in ICT level 2 – ME ASDAN Certificate on Personal Effectiveness level 2 – PA. She also gained 4 ‘A’ Levels. She is currently studying a joint honours in French & International Relations at the University of Leeds. It’s a 4 year course with a sandwiched year abroad.
After school Cameron attended RCAT (Rother Valley Campus) for 2 years where he received an OCR Extended National Diploma in Media, Animation and Games. He then did an apprenticeship with Life Skills, earning an NVQ 2 in Business and Administration. Cameron now works for U-Explore as a Web Developer – his dream job!
Natasha has just finished her degree in Education Studies and Sport at Bishop Grosseteste in Lincoln.
During her time there she volunteered as sports officer and ran all of the competitive and recreational sports teams. In her spare time she’s a football referee. She started in 2011 and since has been appointed to the FA Girls Youth Cup Final as an Assistant Referee. This summer went to referee in America. She has also been recently appointed to the RAFA Youth Council which is to help the development of refereeing for young people.
After school Daisy studied ‘A’ Levels at Thomas Rotherham College. She is presently at the University of Birmingham studying Mechanical Engineering. She represents the university in Netball and last year she was asked to captain the team and they went on to win the league. She is currently the president of the Mechanical Engineering society, and a student mentor helping students settle in to university life. Also Daisy is an ambassador for the Mechanical Engineering.
Adam left Rawmarsh in 2008 and completed his A Levels at Wath Comprehensive School. Adam graduated from Nottingham Trent University in July 2013 with a BA (Hons) in Economics. He briefly worked for British Gas before moving to Coventry and then Nottingham to work for HM Revenue and Customs where he is now fully qualified as a Tax investigator. Adam is currently on a career break and is living in Australia achieving a lifelong ambition of being the overseas cricketer for an Australian team.
Tom attended Leeds Metropolitan University from 2010-2013 studying for a BA Honours in Physical Education.
He recently graduated achieving a ‘first’ class degree.
He is now studying for a PGCE at Sheffield Hallam and hopes to become a PE teacher next year.

She is currently at Sheffield Hallam University studying BA Film & Media Production.
Lauren completed ‘A’ levels in Health and Social Care, Sociology and English language at Thomas Rotherham College. She is currently studying Children, Young People and Families at York St John University.
Emily is currently at university studying for a BA Hons in Educational Studies. She is co-chair of volunteering at the university. Emily also works as a play worker at a local after school club and is considering doing a masters at the Institute of Education in London.
Victoria graduated from Sheffield Hallam with a degree in English Literature. She is currently working at Capita while setting up her own retail business and working on her first novel.
Paige graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA 2:1 in English and creative Writing. She recently got a job at a company in Birmingham called Alexander Daniels where she will work as a social media employee.
Rebecca is currently studying at Sheffield Hallam University for a degree in Marketing and Retail. She is currently on a 12 month placement in the position as an online marketing and design co-ordinator for a Sheffield based company that specialises in creating advertising campaigns for stationery companies across the UK.
