Protocol for staff in zone 1

Arrival  to School 1.     Car Parking: Staff working in the zone 1 will park in the left hand side of the car park near the BASE portokabin.

2.     Entrance to School: Staff will access school through the gates next to the portokabin and enter A Block through the side entrance near EN10 (old Year 11 Common Room) Staff should follow social distancing.

3.     You should arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of your lesson and sign in with the member of the Senior Leadership Team.

4.     Movement: Staff should stay on the left hand side of the corridors when traveling to and around zone 1.  Movement should be as limited as possible.

Zone 1 ·       EN10

·       IT1

·       EN9

·       IT3

·       Assistant Headteachers Office (SLT Base)

·       Attendance Office (Isolation room)

·       Staff toilets (next to attendance office)

·       Student toilet in A Block.

·       An allocated outdoor area for this zone – area directly outside EN10 near the entrance to zone 1

·       English corridor office (between En8 and En9) – for photocopying (staff only)

There should be no movement between these areas.

Staff must not under any circumstances cross into any other zone set up within school.

Sanitation and Hygiene ·       Staff are to wash hands in the staff toilet near the attendance office.

·       Staff are required to wash hands or sanitise every half an hour or if you sneeze / cough.

·       Hand sanitiser dispensers are located outside IT3, outside the student toilets  and outside the staff toilet

·       Staff should request that students wash their hands on arrival at staggered times for at least 20 seconds in the toilet

·       Staff should ensure that students wash their hands before break and before lunch on a staggered rota.

·       Students should use hand sanitiser upon entry and exit from the toilet.

Working with Students in Zone 1 Seating Plans: 

·       Each room will have a set seating plan that must not be altered.

·       Equipment will be on each desk and sharing of equipment is not allowed.

Lunches:

·       The canteen will not be open to staff or students.

·       During phase 1 the canteen will not be open.

·       During phase 2 the canteen will be opened so grab bags (only) can be ordered daily for students who require this. They will be delivered to the zone.

·       Staff should bring their own packed lunch and take any waste home with them to dispose of.

·       Staff should bring their own drinks and mugs.  Use of the communal kettles or fridge should be avoided where possible, but if used staff should wash hands before and after using the appliances.

·       Staff should monitor the time that the bins are emptied if they do not have a lid. If bins without a lid are not changed every hour contact SLT>

 

Toilets:

·       Toilet visits will be controlled by the Senior Leadership Team in the first instance and students will be instructed to was hands for a minimum of 20 seconds each time.

·       Only one student at any one time can visit the toilet. Students will use the toilet in A Block.

·       Students must only use the toilet during lesson time if absolutely necessary.

·       At break times students must line up when using the toilet by adhering to the social distancing markings located around the zone.

 

Behaviour Support:

·       Zone 1 will have an allocated member of the Senior Leadership Team to support with any behavioural issues.

·       As the zone potentially expands Student Progress Managers will be expected to support.

·       Any student that does not adhere to and ignores instructions to adhere to social distancing rules will automatically be removed from the school site.

·       All staff, students and parents will receive a copy of the amended Behaviour Policy.

·       Student code of conduct must be shared with students each morning so that the key messages are reinforced and this becomes our mantra.

 

Communication in School:

·       Staff in each room will communicate via email, mobile and Google Meet.

·       Where possible a Google Meet online session will take place daily prior to the students arriving to ensure everything is okay

·       Staff must ensure they have all SLT mobile phone numbers stored on their phones.

 

Safeguarding:

·       The safeguarding team will be initially working from home.

·       Any concerns about a child or disclosures must be immediately written down using the following prompts: What happened? When did it happen?  Where did it happen? Who was present?

·       This information should be relayed to MTN and the safeguarding team by email and recorded on CPOMs.

·       In the event of an emergency staff should contact MTN and/or AHO via mobile telephone.

 

First Aid:

·       Where possible a qualified first aider will be allocated to each zone.

·       If a first aider is unavailable in the zone, staff should email/telephone SLT and/or reception.

 

Fire Alarm:

·       The allocated meeting area for zone 1 is the top courts.

·       If the fire alarm sounds the member of SLT responsible for the zone will ensure that all students and staff go to the top court and ensure that social distancing is followed.

·       When evacuating the building the students and staff closest to the exit will leave first.

·       The member of staff in the zone should check the number of children and staff and check all rooms have been evacuated.

·       Classrooms should be left unlocked but the doors closed.

What To Do If a Student Or Staff Member Shows Symptoms Of COVID-19 ·       Staff to alert the member of SLT within the Zone via email/text that a person is displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

·       The student is then escorted at social distance to a dedicated room (attendance office) within the zone and parents are contacted to collect. Students must not be allowed to walk or get the bus home under any circumstances.

·       Staff should close the classroom down and the zone leader should contact other parents to collect their child as a precautionary measure.

Leaving the Building ·       Staff will exit the building through the same route they arrived.

·       Staff must adhere to social distancing rules when leaving the school site and ensure that students departure is staggered.

·       Staff must not congregate anywhere in the building or outside area.

Wearing of Masks/Face Coverings ·       Although the government have not specified for masks or PPE to be worn in school, where staff want to wear a face covering this is entirely up to individuals.

 

Protocol for staff in zone 2

4.     Movement: Staff should stay on the left hand side of the corridors when traveling to and around zone 2. Staff and students should follow the one way movement system at all times.  Movement should be as limited as possible.

2.     Entrance to School: Staff will access school through the gates next to the graveyard and enter through the normal entrance to D Block. Staff should follow social distancing.

3.     You should arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of your lesson and sign in with the member of the Senior Leadership Team.

4.     Movement: Staff should stay on the left hand side of the corridors when traveling to and around zone 3. Staff and students should follow the one-way movement system at all times.  Movement should be as limited as possible.

Zone 3 ·       Ar1 (initially the only room required for key worker provision)

·       Ar3

·       IT7

·       First Aid Office (Next to Student Toilets) SLT Base

·       Intervention 3 (Near Student toilets) Isolation room

·       Staff toilets (Disabled Toilet near student toilets)

·       Student toilet in D Block.

·       An allocated outdoor area for this zone – Yard outside the old library. This may become the top court if numbers increase.

There should be no movement between these areas.
