Curriculum

BASE offers targeted pupils additional levels of support in terms of Alternative provision and access to specialist help and support to aid engagement and progress. Our aim in BASE is to help pupils maximise their engagement in mainstream school by removing barriers to learning to enable them to reach their full potential and make a successful post 16 transition.

Types of support offered are as follows:

  • ABLE Programme (Addressing Barriers to Learning and Engagement) Off site provision
  • Personalised Programmes where appropriate
  • Key Worker support for targeted pupils
  •  RCS engagement provision where appropriate – Horticulture/Hairdressing
  • BASE Target Sheet and Monitoring Report
  • 1 to 1 support from BASE staff in targeted lessons and in BASE where appropriate
  • 1 to 1 from Subject Teachers where appropriate
  • Classroom support from BASE/CS staff
  • BASE Stars/Rewards
  • BASE Sanctions
  • BASE available before and after school for pupils to complete homework
  • Close engagement with parents/carers
  • Off-site provision where appropriate
  • Referral to outside agencies where appropriate

Students

The main aim of BASE is to support pupils who need extra help with behaviour and emotional difficulties, these pupils are identified by senior school staff however we are available before and after school for you to access BASE to complete homework and coursework. We also offer an opportunity for you to get involved in our allotment club which is seasonal and runs from Easter to the end of the summer term (Wednesdays after school and some lunchtimes).

Parents
