RCS students appear live on the BBC!
Twelve lucky Y9 students from RCS have spent the day with a team of producers from the BBC to make special reports on how to beat stress. As well as working with professional camera crews and editors, students got a tour of the Media City studios in Salford and two of them – Abigail and Cody – were even interviewed live on the BBC News Channel! The day proved to be a memorable experience that has got everybody talking.

BBC School Report 2017 – it’s bigger than ever!
Ten schools from across the Academy Trust have joined together to become news reporters for the day. With help from experts from the Rawmarsh CLC and Red Road FM, a total of 73 students from Y5 to Y9 worked together across three different days to make news stories for TV and Radio. Their reports included whether the UK will have another Scottish Referendum, Prince William’s ‘dad dancing’ and a variety of school news including Movement Evening, Music Festival and the success of the RCS Girls Football Team.
Students involved have also been invited to attend the School Report Awards Evening, where students will have their achievements recognised, on Thursday 6th April from 5.30pm.
