Chateau du Broutel Trip
From Thursday 30th November to Saturday 2nd December, 31 of our Y7 pupils crossed the channel into France, representing both Rawmarsh and the UK as they embarked on their trip to the Chateau du Broutel.
There were a few tired faces on the first day, as students left the school at midnight before catching the early morning Dover-Calais ferry. Upon arrival in Calais, we headed to Amiens, where it was good to see we had brought the British weather with us, as the snow began to fall. The students were all excited by the Nausicaa Aquarium, with it being the first time that many of them had seen some of the sea creatures up-close.
On the second day, the students put their French skills to the test in Amiens, where they had the chance to sample some of the local French food and culture at the Amiens Christmas market. Each and every one of the students were a credit to the school. Their attitude and behavior were impeccable, and staff remarked that they had never received so many positive remarks from members of the public.
