Construction Works Start on New Block to Accommodate More Students
Just before the May half term break, Hawker Construction Ltd started construction works on our brand new block.
The decision for the new block – which will be situated behind C Block overlooking the courts – comes after an increase in student numbers over the past four years. We are close to reaching our student admission limit and have increased Published Admission Numbers (PAN) this year to accommodate more Year 6s, which has led us to needing more space.
The building will house up to 10 new classrooms for the students when they return or start in September 2021.
Mr Turton, Headteacher at Rawmarsh Community School said: “The popularity of the school continues to rise and as such we have been asked by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council to take additional students from September 2021. This speaks volumes about the school’s improvement since becoming a part of Wickersley Partnership Trust and is a direct result of the hard work, commitment and dedication of all the staff at Rawmarsh Community School. It is a truly exciting time for our community.”
