Post-16 progression: Information and Support for Year 11
On Friday 11th October 2019 Year 11 students will be involved in a range of sessions to help inform them about their choices and future progress after they complete school; the day will run from 8.45 am – 3.10 pm and will include sessions on college and sixth form search and apply, personal statement preparation, employability and apprenticeships, revision and exam preparation as well as a careers panel run by Ahead Partnerships.
On the day every student will have a ‘mock interview’ with a visiting professional. Whilst the day is non-uniform we would like every student to attend school in smart ‘business’ dress, please.
Students will start their day at 8.45 am; a schedule will be provided to students nearer to the time but during the day they will work their way around a carousel of sessions. There will be a short break at 10.45 am – 11.00 am and 12.10 pm – 12.40 pm during which students can use the cafeteria for light snacks.
For further information please also find on the careers section of our website details of local post-16 providers open events and application information.
All students are able to seek advice around further and higher education and apprenticeships from Mrs Mullins based in careers office/library in C Block – email@example.com. Parents are also welcome to make contact with any queries. Individual appointments can be made by students and there is also a weekly after school drop-in on a Wednesday.
