This week our Y11 football team got their Rotherham Cup campaign off to a winning start running out 4-3 winners against Oakwood High School in a closely fought contest!

Initially having gone behind to a goal against the run of play, we equalised through a fantastic strike from distance from Ben Harwood before going into halftime leading 2-1 thanks to a close range goal from Charlie Telling. The second half proved to be an eventful one as Oakwood pegged us back twice to make the game 2-2 and 3-3. The third Rawmarsh goal coming from James Nairn.

In a game that looked set to go penalties and being played in near darkness, the Rawmarsh boys continued to give their all and finally scored the winner that all of their efforts and hard work deserved in the last minute of the game after Ben Harwood converted home from James Nairn cross and excellent run down the right-wing!

Well done boys, a fully deserved win and excellent performance and victory!

Good luck in the next round!
