Y6 Information Evening

I believe every parent has the right to expect that every community has an OFSTED “Good” or “Oustanding” secondary school situated in that community. Parents should not have to seek secondary education outside their own community.

Since our OFSTED inspection in May 2017 where we were judged as a “Good” school, we have continued to improve the quality of teaching and learning and the curriculum provision, as a result, more students are achieving their full potential.

Moving to secondary school is a very important stage in the life of your child and you will want to feel comfortable with the way that the new school works with the values that it represents If we are going to work together successfully it is essential that you have confidence in the school you have chosen.

We place a strong emphasis on achievement and attainment and our core business is learning; learning is measured at examination and we want and expect all of our students to perform their maximum ability at examination, particularly GCSE.

All of this said, it is very important that you choose your child’s school in as informed a way as possible and we will be holding an information event for the parents of prospective Rawmarsh Students (the year 6 students in our feeder primary schools) in our school on Wednesday 19th September 2018 at 5 PM and 6 PM.

Home, school, and students each with their own roles and responsibilities make up the team that will win the all-important competition to send every young person into this ever and rapidly changing world ready, able and qualified to play their full part in it, and I look forward to working with you and your family for several years to come.

Yours faithfully,

Helen O’Brien,
