Y7 Climate Change Pledge

Science

Dr Mortons Y7 class have written a letter to the prime minister asking them to make a climate change pledge to positively impact the environment.

As part of our Y7 curriculum, we teach the topic of energy production which includes fossil fuels, renewable energy, and pollution.

The students have shown such passion for improving the planet and have decided to pledge to make a positive impact within their own lives by reducing the amount of meat they eat, not charging their phones overnight and using more public transport to reduce their carbon footprint.

We also discussed the changes that needed to be made locally and nationally to reduce the effects of climate change, the students have considered the different options available for renewable sources of energy production and have made suggestions for improvements.
