Y7 Planning For Their Future
Year 7 recently had a great day planning their future with the help of visiting professionals from the world of work.
Activities including drone flying, experiencing life in the police cadets, exploring all the different careers available in the sports professions, trying out media make-up and childcare and learning how the world of games and animation is developing to help improve life for example with people who have Alzheimer’s disease.
We even tried out a bit of archaeology and gained an understanding of how ongoing research in this area helps us with modern life.
Students also worked with their teachers to identify their ‘career personality’, explore careers in Kudos and play the ‘Happy Job Families’ game.
Lot’s of inspiration and careers conversations going on all day – a huge thank you to our visitors for providing a fantastic experience:
- Overland Drones
- South Yorkshire Police Cadets
- Rotherham United Community Sports Trust
- Archaeology at The University of Sheffield
- The brilliant faculty staff from Rotherham North Notts College
“All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.”
