This school is great as it is. Fortunately, it gives all students the amazing opportunities to help the school grow and get better. Many think it’s 6 long monotonous hours however if they were to put their head down they might see it differently. I’m looking forward to being part of something which can make the school even better; maybe the best.

Joshua Havenhand

Year 8

I view school as a place to learn but have fun at the same time and make progress. I think our school at the moment is getting better and the school is becoming a nicer place to be. Many actions taken by the student council have really helped improve the school. I am looking forward to being on the student council due to me being able to express my views and opinions and help make the school even better than it already is.

Chloe Overett

Year 9

I enjoy being on the student council because I and the other students can make decisions that could make the school an even better place to come and learn. The school is already a great place to come, but I think that we can make it a better one for students and teachers.

Ross Birks

Year 9

I believe that the school is very diverse when it comes to leadership and new exciting changes. I think it is great that they let the students help put forward their ideas on how the school could be better, and as part of the senior student council I with the help of others get to give a flow of ideas from us the pupils which I love the idea and concept of.

Courtney Price

Year 10

Senior student council is a great group to be part of, co-operating with a group of amazing people that always have the mentality to put others first and keep school life as positive as possible. Being part of the council over the last year has really built up my confidence and is a way that everyone’s opinions and interests gets put forward in a democratic process. Any idea from something small to a large issue is looked at and a solution is deliberated on how to fix it. Around school you can see the impact of our ideas being introduced which shows that our opinion also contributes to the overall running of the day. Im pleased that I can continue going to meetings and understanding different points of view as well as giving advice that might help someone else who hasn’t been at the school very long.

Whilst Rawmarsh has indeed had a bad name in previous years I believe that at current the school provides it’s students with a sense of safety and security as well as providing it’s students with a motive for achievement and hard work. Overall the school from my perspective is a productive, smart as well as upcoming workplace of success which wants nothing more than it’s students to thrive and excel in life.
In terms of senior student council I want to be able to achieve a better school for students and teachers alike and to ensure every student is given equality and is allowed to speak in terms of the whole school.

Avumile Sibanda

Year 11

I think the school is a really great place, where you are able to meet new people and learn great things. I am looking forward to being in the senior council so I can represent other students in the school, and be able to say what sort of ideas they have to make the school a much better place.
