Trying Something New!

In Y10/11 students develop their character and physical competence as well as increase their knowledge and understanding of the value of lifelong participation in Sport developing the ethos of a healthy body = A healthy mind. This is done by ensuring lessons are both engaging and purposeful as well as additional opportunities for pupils to ‘try something new’ in the form of taster sessions or units of work. 

Y11s have been involved in boogie bounce sessions at the Warehouse Studios in Parkgate. These sessions have been led by their fitness instructor Emily. The students have loved the sessions with some deciding to now take it up in their own time with family members. Please see their Facebook page for details Boogie Bounce Rotherham.

Y10s have started a 10-week program of fitness and boxing. They are working with Jason Cunningham – A Professional boxer, current European and Commonwealth featherweight champion, who regularly appears on sky sports and is a qualified personal trainer.  In week 1 they covered boxing fitness and boxing techniques. All the students are very much looking forward to week 2.
