Y10 Silver DofE Expedition

Some of our Y10 students have recently completed their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award qualifying expeditions.

These included three days of walking and two nights camping in the Peak District.

Day 1 included walking from near Hayfield, across South Head, then along Rushup Edge to Mam Tor, with a camp in the Edale Valley.

Day 2 included a tough route through Jagger’s Clough to Hope Cross then down to camp at Pindale Farm near Hope.

Day 3 was a walk along the Hope Valley.  The students coped well with the tough terrain and the changeable weather.

They displayed good skills around the campsite including cooking some interesting looking meals.

The students were a credit to themselves and the school.
