Rawmarsh Join World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Rawmarsh Community School joined Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event this Friday, to help raise money for people battling cancer.

Cakes, muffins and a variety of tasty baked goods made by students and teachers were sold to help raise funds.

Macmillan Cancer Support are a charity that help care for people living with cancer, through vital fundraising events, public campaigns and healthcare professionals.

Funded 98% by voluntary donations, events such as the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning are integral to the sustainability of the organisation.

All the money raised through the sales of Rawmarsh’s baked goods will be donated to Macmillan to help support the fight against cancer.

Macmillan’s first ever coffee morning was held back in 1990 as a small affair but has since grown to become the national annual event it is today.

Over £290 million has been raised for Macmillan over the past 22 years and Rawmarsh are delighted to be able to help grow that figure.
