On 23rd February a number of our Year 11 students had a taster day at one of the RNN colleges with some students attending workshops at Rotherham college and others at Dearne Valley.
Students got to take part in workshops of subjects they may be interested in studying next year. The workshops were very diverse covering subjects such as Hair and Beauty, Plumbing, Brickwork, Motor vehicle, Health and Social Care, Sports Studies, Animal Care and Media make-up.
This gave students an excellent opportunity to sample college life, familiarise themselves with the environment, meet the teachers who will be teaching the courses in September and get an insight into what the course entails.
The day was a huge success proving to be very valuable for our students in terms of informing them of their options post 16. The students were a credit to both themselves and the school.
We are also pleased to announce that we are now a member of the RNN Schools Partnership Programme. We are now one of their flagship schools meaning that we will be working more closely with them to aid the transition of our students into their post 16 provision.
