World Book Day 2024

Yesterday was World Book Day 2024 and as part of the celebrations, staff from Rawmarsh brightened up school with their creative door designs and book character outfits.

There was a wonderful range of characters and door designs this year, but a big shoutout goes to the RCS Art department who fully embraced their inner witches and wizards with their Harry Potter door theme.

Students got involved with the annual event by participating in a whole school audio book session for 10 minutes at the start of each lesson, with them aim to have completed it in full by the end of period 4. The chosen book was ‘The Monkey’s Paw’ by W.W. Jacobs and as a group they analysed the plot and discussed the book design. They were also encouraged to read in their spare time and hunt for World Book Day ‘Golden Tickets’ that had been hidden across school for the chance to claim a brand new book of choice.
