Y10 Silver Duke of Edinburgh

This week, our Y10s have completed their Silver DofE practice expedition in and around the Hope Valley. On day 1, they walked alongside Ladybower Reservoir in warm sunny weather, climbed through the forest to Hope Cross, before descending along the Roman road to Hope and their campsite at Pindale Farm.

On day 2, some students saw lambs being born in the field next to the campsite. After this, they set off in much colder weather along Rushup Edge to Mam Tor, before dropping down to Edale. From there, they climbed up to Hollins Cross and followed the ridge over Back Tor and Lose Hill then down to the campsite.

On the final day, they completed a riverside walk along the Hope Valley to Hathersage. Throughout the expedition the students worked hard, and their behaviour was impeccable – it was a pleasure for the staff to work with them.

Well done to all involved!
