Yesterday, Y6 students were welcomed to Rawmarsh Community School as they began their three-week transition period. This is a key part of their journey to secondary school, offering them the chance to familiarise themselves with the school environment, meet staff and peers, and experience a taste of Rawmarsh life ahead of September.
The move from primary to secondary school is a significant step for both students and families. With support from Wickersley Partnership Trust, we provide a well-structured and supportive transition programme that is designed to ease anxieties, build confidence and ensure that every student feels excited about this new chapter.
Throughout the transition period, students will take part in a range of activities that help them get to know their new surroundings, routines, and the high expectations we set at Rawmarsh. They will also have opportunities to build relationships with staff and future classmates, helping to lay the foundations for a smooth and successful start in September.
On behalf of everyone at Rawmarsh and Wickersley Partnership Trust, we would like to commend the students on an excellent first day. They conducted themselves fantastically and looked incredibly smart in their new uniforms. We hope they all enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to the next few weeks.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to all parents and carers for your ongoing support in making this transition such a success. We look forward to working closely with you and your children in the years to come.
