Y10 Duke of Edinburgh

As the nights draw in and the leaves begin to fall, our Y10 students completed the final DofE expedition of the season with a Silver practice in the Peak District. Fortunately, high-pressure weather brought dry, calm conditions – perfect for walking and camping.

On Day 1, the group walked along Ladybower Reservoir, climbed through the forest to Hope Cross, and descended the Roman Road to their campsite in Hope. Day 2 saw them tackling the Great Ridge, journeying from Lord’s Seat to Lose Hill via Edale. The third day included a scenic riverside walk along the Hope Valley. Adding an extra challenge, the students even completed a night walk to the summit of Mam Tor, torchlight guiding their way.

Throughout the expedition, the students’ attitude, commitment, and behaviour were outstanding. Well done to everyone involved!
