It has been a really busy couple of weeks for our careers provision!
Some of our Year 10 students attended taster sessions at Dearne Valley College to get a feel for life on campus and to try out new skills – truly embodying the idea of dreaming big. This included making their own way to college to help build resilience and independence. Students had the opportunity to try courses such as joinery, motor vehicle, and sport, giving them a hands-on experience and a first-hand insight into what life at college is really like. All students were commended for their hard work and their polite, respectful attitude. This is a great example of Wickersley Partnership Trust’s Enrichment Promise, giving pupils experiences that broaden their horizons. Well done!
We also hosted our annual mock interviews for Year 11 students, where local employers visited RCS to give pupils a realistic experience of what to expect from future interviews, both in and out of education. All students will receive personalised feedback to help them reflect, improve, and continue to give their best. The mock interviews were a great success, with employers praising the professional and respectful attitude of the students. Well done, Y11!
