On Thursday 12th February, we had the pleasure of hosting the ‘Rotherham Secondary Schools Battle of the Bands Final 2026’ here at Rawmarsh – and what an incredible night it was!
The event was a new collaboration between Rotherham Music and Wickersley Partnership Trust as part of Signals 2026.
8 schools, 13 bands and a brilliant showcase of some of the amazing musical talent we have across a range of Rotherham secondary schools.
A massive well done to all bands involved and a huge congratulations to the winners:
KS3 Category Winner – The Metamorphosis (Thrybergh Academy)
KS4 Category Winner – The Eclipse (St Bernard’s Catholic High School)
Overall Winner – Brighter Than Shadows (Clifton Community School)
A special well done to Rawmarsh’s very own ‘Cause of Concern’ who sounded spectacular on the night and delivered a fantastic performance – you did Rawmarsh and yourselves proud!
The band have been working really hard recently and have been getting their name out there by performing at a variety of local pubs across Rotherham. You can catch them perform at one of their upcoming live events which includes ‘The Leopard’ in Doncaster, ‘Gorilla Beer Hall’ in Mexborough or at Rotherham’s newest go to spot for live music ‘The Empire’ – keep it going lads!
Another important mention goes to the incredible ‘Miley Yip’ in Y11 who was our fabulous compere for the evening. To say she is a natural at hosting might be an understatement. Not only did she help the night run smoothly, she brought her usual bright, confident and charismatic energy to the show. Thank you and well done Miley!
