Y11 Rotherham Cup Final

Last night, RCS Year 11 boys competed in the Rotherham Schools Cup Final against a strong Wales High School side. In the final match of their school football journey, and in front of more than 200 family members and friends, they delivered an outstanding performance, winning 2-1 and bringing the trophy back to Rawmarsh!

After going 1-0 down early on, the team showed great character and determination. Goals from A Proffitt and J Greaves turned the game around, with RCS creating chances throughout. In the final five minutes, despite tired legs and players beginning to cramp, the squad stayed united and defended brilliantly to secure the win.

It was a fantastic team performance and a brilliant way to end their time playing school football together.

Squad:

  • A Proffitt (GK)
  • M Venables
  • R Morina
  • K Taylor-Banks
  • J Houghton (C)
  • F Smith
  • G Marrison

  • L Severn
  • T Rowlinson
  • F Parry
  • H Cuckson (GK)
  • O Smirthwaite
  • J Barlow
  • F Smith
  • Assistant Manager – X Gunn

An incredible achievement – well done to everyone involved!
