RCS Sponsored Walk

On Friday 16th October, as part of their personal development, RCS students took part in our annual sponsored walk, demonstrating fantastic community spirit and determination. Following a whole-school vote, students chose Cancer Research UK as this year’s charity.

In the lead-up to the event and on the morning of the walk, students learned about Cancer Research UK and the vital work it carries out – from funding life-saving scientific research and developing new treatments to raising awareness and providing support for individuals and families affected by cancer.

Congratulations to every student who completed the challenging 8-mile walk and achieved their Bronze Cultural Experiences Pledge! Students also received a Sponsored Walk 2026 completion badge which can be worn on ties. The day was a true whole-school effort, with staff members across all departments marshalling and supervising the route to keep students safe, motivated, and energized throughout the day.

As approved by the Student Council, all funds raised will be divided equally between Cancer Research UK and key school initiatives to benefit our students.

How to Submit Sponsorship Money

  • Preferred Method: Please pay via ParentPay.

  • Support: If you require assistance with your ParentPay account, please contact jrotherham@rawmarsh.org.

Thank you to all our students, staff, and families for making this year’s sponsored walk such a rewarding success!
