KS3 Art

Our KS3 students have been taking part in some fantastic Art lessons, exploring different artists, styles and techniques.

Year 7 students have been studying the Fauvist art movement, taking inspiration from Henri Matisse. They created vibrant forest landscapes using expressive colours before developing their skills further through organic cut-out compositions.

Year 8 students have been exploring Gothic architecture through the work of artist Ian Murphy. After creating mixed-media studies inspired by his artwork, they finished the term by using the grid method to draw detailed Gothic-style door knockers.

Meanwhile, Year 9 students have been studying Hyperrealism through the monochromatic artwork of Paul Cadden. They began by creating highly detailed studies of eyes before progressing to painted portraits that capture subtle facial expressions and often-overlooked emotional details.

It has been fantastic to see students across all three year groups developing their artistic skills, experimenting with different techniques and producing such thoughtful and creative work!
