RCS Celebrates 25 Years of World Book Day

At RCS, we prioritise reading for pleasure. We encourage and support all of our students to read widely and often. Reading has immense benefits to improve: literacy, concentration, vocabulary and beyond.  We want to send all students into an ever-changing world able and qualified to play their full part in it; engaging with reading will support all students to succeed and reach their full potential.

World Book Day promotes a love of reading through reading for pleasure. Tokens have been provided for students to swap at local participating bookstores for a free book.  To celebrate today, we held form time quizzes, a book club in the main hall, where students were able to choose a text to read and share together. Teachers across school have read extracts from their favourite texts during their lessons and dressed up for the occasion! Students have also had opportunities to choose what they read in English.

Don’t forget to complete a book review of your free book claim and send it to Miss Keogh to achieve a pledge.
