Y10 DofE Expedition

Last week saw the final DofE expedition of the summer term with one of our Y10 groups completing their silver qualifying expedition. This took place in the White Peak area of the Peak District and included overnight camps at Bakewell and Birchover.

The biggest challenge to the students was probably the weather, and although the temperatures were not quite as high as had been forecasted, the heat made for tough walking conditions. We provided extra checkpoints with water available and did think we may need to shorten the routes and maybe lighten the student’s packs for them. However, the students embraced the challenge and were determined to complete the full expedition.

Well done to all involved.
