Homework Calendar

Our homework calendar is designed to support parents in guiding home learning. The calendar helps to
structure recommended times when students should complete homework assignments, without creating the burden of multiple homework deadlines. Homework activities may be assigned on platforms before the recommended day on the calendar.

Staff have been asked to set meaningful homework that should take:

  • Up to 30 minutes for Y7, Y8 and Y9 students
  • Up to 40 minutes for Y10 and Y11 students.

Students should not spend more than the suggested times above on an individual homework assignment. If they do so, please ask them to inform the teacher of that subject.

The school has a range of different platforms where homework is set. These include Google Classroom,
Seneca Learning platform, Complete Maths / Maths Watch, and Language Nut (for MFL subjects). To ensure students know where to access their homework, staff will ask students to note the homework, the platform, and the deadline in their school planner.

As with any new initiative, there may be teething problems whilst students and parents become accustomed to different platforms. Should your child encounter any problems with a particular homework activity, please ask them to speak directly with their subject teacher.

To further support your child, we offer a supervised Homework Club each day after school, where students have full computer access and, should they need it, staff support. Homework Club is held in En9 each day.
