On 18th October 2024, we hosted our annual sponsored walk to raise funds for a selected charity, and for the school. All students had the opportunity to vote, and Age UK was their chosen charity. In the lead-up to the event and on the morning of the walk, students learned about Age UK and the vital work it does in supporting the elderly, providing essential services such as companionship, advocacy, and assistance with daily living, helping to combat loneliness and improve the quality of life for older people.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 8-mile walk, and achieved their Bronze Active Citizenship Pledge! The day was a whole school effort, with all staff members supporting the walk by marshalling and supervising, making the event enjoyable and rewarding for students. As approved by the Student Council, funds raised will be equally divided between Age UK and school initiatives.
